Speed visiting...

I skipped a late afternoon event on the conference I'm attending and headed out to the trolley station and taking the green and blue line to downtown San Diego. The trolley platform was filled with people - heading the opposite direction - to the stadium. Big football game tonight. But the trolley heading downtown was quiet and nice.

I had quickly browsed through the guide book for a little walking tour during a morning session break. It said the walk would take 3 hours - but I didn't have that time. At least if I would be able to take pictures in the daylight. So I had to do a little speed visiting to the downtown area. I even considered taking one of the bike taxis...

When darkness fell, I was exhausted, but happy. I had seen at least a tiny bit of San Diego. I sneaked in to the Horton Plaza and found a sale at JJill... before taking the trolley back to the hotel again.

A few pictures from today:

We quite liked the cute area down by the sea front harbor. I forget what it was called now but it had numerous little shops including a Swedish/Norwegian store selling an odd little mix of things but very sweet.
It was something like Seascape village I think. (I have been known to say something completely different though so don't be too surprised if there's nothing called that for miles! Lol!)

Britgirl - yep - Seaport Village - and yes, there was a Scandinavian shop - haha!

Isle Dance - thanks!

James White - sorry - no solicitation - I just hate that. Feel free to comment - but keep your unrelated links to your own blog profile. Have removed your comment.

Yes! It is called Seaport Village. My friend used to work there. The Scandinavian shop, however paltry it is, is called the Little Viking.

Well, I don't know you at all, but if I knew you were in San Diego I would have insisted on showing you some places. I had some Swedish friends here last year for Christmas and figured out some of the better places to tour, though you hit some good spots!

Aaron - aha - Little Viking - that's right. I was in there for a few seconds just to check it out. I think I did fairly good - only relying on National Geographic's guide book that I picked up in a book store in a few minutes... ;-) But I only saw a fraction - beautiful place!! Wouldn't mind living there at all!
