A pretty bad day

We're under a severe weather watch. Not only is the temperature record high, the smoke is really, really bad, and the heat isn't making it better. The air is clogged with a soupy mix of ozone and smoke from all the wildfires burning around California. When you check the smoke map, you realize that there are hardly any places to go for a relief, even though we happens to be in one of the worst areas (and we're FAR from actual fires). Almost all of California is covered in some smoke.

So we stay indoors and drink tons of water and our poor air condition has managed to get the indoor temperature down to +28C. Which really feels cool and nice when you come from outdoors...

What a great vacation week.

My hubby went over the hill to Nugget and said even the store was full of smoke!

Your photos show it well. Isn't it awful. I'm so tired of staying inside, and the airconditioner needs a rest from running non stop.

Usch stackars er, vad jobbigt. Inge kul.

Helt otroligt! Det är ju jättelångt bort från oss.

Britgirl - it sure is... yuack... BelAir was ok - no smoke in there - but outside... I'm going nuts from staying inside with the kids...

KKBryant - isn't it so crazy... usually you can open up and get some fresh air in late at night and early morning, even during these 100F-weeks... but now we're stuck with the air...

Dosiss - problem is that all of Northern California is more or less smoke filled... There are 300-something fires burning. Depending how the wind blows there might be better to the west - so we might head there this weekend. The fires are all over however... and there hardly no chances of rain during this time of year.
