I like milk. My husband do to. And with kids, that is a lot of milk consumption in this house.We love the fact that you buy milk by the gallon here. Actually right now we have 2 full and one half full gallons in our huge refrigerator. One gallon of milk equals almost 4 liters. That would mean that we right now would have approximately 10 liters in our refrigerator... Hm... maybe we have to think about or milk addiction...
It felt kind of weird buying milk in the beginning, like you were getting... gas or something. And you really need strong arms to pour. But then, that's what the milk is for, isn't it?

I have to disagree with you: buying milk by the gallon sucks. Or not the acutal buying and carrying home from the store, that part of it, I agree, is quite practical, not to mention a good workout. However, the problem appears when you place the beast on the dinner table. Not only does it take up an enormous amount of space; small children on the other side of the table tend to disappear behind it and you end up having a conversation with a four gallon plastic milk container instead of your tree year old son. And don´t tell me to put the damn thing somewhere else, with three small kids that drink milk and spill their milk glasses out with the same energy you need to have a milk container on the table.
That lovely swedish 1 litre container to the right bring tears to my eyes. It´s the perfect size. And pretty too.

I agree, I like the gallon size milk jugs.
Also, this business of after opening the Swedish milk container and not putting a cap on it--you can't because the container is torn and there is no cap unless you buy one especiall for this and it really doesn't make a tight seal--is not particularly hygenic. I asked about this once here and somebody told me that they go through milk so quickly that there is no need for the lid. I laughed. Of course, it comes in such tiny packages.
Also, for the person that complained about gallon size milk, why not just get a smaller container? They sell those too in the USA you know.
