Spring!

Spring actually arrived here the week I was in Sweden, two weeks ago. And by "spring" I mean the period when "the blossoming trees that loose its leaves in fall gets new flowers".

I have absolutely no hard core statistics (have a total lack of "green thumbs"), but about half the greenery looses it's leaves in fall (at least that goes for our back yard) in our part of California. And you have to remember that California is a huge state - same size as Sweden (and Sweden might be small in population, but compared to other European countries in size it's actually very big). California has several different climate zones and it might be snowing in the northern parts while people are surfing in the southern parts.

I LOVE spring. It's the best time of the year. And I love that it comes in February! 3 months of "winter" is about all I can take these days - spoiled with Californian weather. Now I want to store my socks in a box on the upper shelves in the closet and not see them again until November* !

(*and of course during my summer weeks in Sweden...)

Yes isn't it lovely?!
We have two weeks before my mom visits so I want to see as much blossom as possible.
(And if the local doctors could unwrap the surgery which we can see across the road, because it looks hideous right now, that would be great too!!!)

Ofta stämmer det som det står i versen: "March comes in like a lion and leaves lika a lamb"...

I think someone told me that the trees that keep their leaves are native to California, and the ones that loose them are non-native to the region and were brought in at some point.

Britgirl - oh, my! What's going on over there!? Surgery - you or any of the kids? What have you been up too??

Annika - ja, vem vet... ni har väl ett par veckor kvar när det är möjligt. Här kan det fortfarnde komma stormar helt klart.

Lotta K - aha - that's sounds really interesting! Could well be an explanation. However - I love the new flowers and the smell from them - best time of the year!

Jacal?!!!
This is the problem with my daft humor!! I meant that the doctors surgery over the road from us has a big sheet over it at the moment and looks ugly and i can't wait for them to take it down. In england we call it the "doctors surgery".
None of us are having surgery at the moment.Lol!

Britgirl - see! That's what happen when you stop stalking me! I loose my sense of humor and totally thought you were having surgery (and might have been very tired this morning when I replied). ;-) Now I know what you meant... and yes - ugly! We discussed it the other day - that place opened up only 5 years ago - how bad can they have built the building having to do what ever they're doing right now.
