I saw this picture in the newspaper over the weekend. "Looks great!", I thought when I saw the picture of the wooden stair case. Then I read the text and yeah... sure enough... the wooden stairs case was the "before" and the carpet runner stair case was the "after"...
Scandinavian design runs deep, deep in your veins...
Ouch, someone voluntarily wanted to add a carpet on their stair? Yuck.
ReplyDeleteThey covered up that beautiful wood.
ReplyDeleteIf you have ever fallen down a flight of wooden stairs you might reconsider :P. I like the rustic look that the carpet adds, but there is something very sexy about the bare wood too.
ReplyDeleteIron has made its name through Spiral Stairs
ReplyDeleteI like outdoor spiral stairs.
They give's a nice look.
And the way they designed. I just luved it
I imagine it would hurt to fall down carpeted stairs too...
ReplyDeleteOur next project is to tear out the old carpet on the stair and add a wooden floor. Så det så...;)
ReplyDeleteRepi - most stairs have carpets in my part of the US. Miss wooden stairs...
ReplyDeleteIndie - yup... ;-(
Anonymous - well, that is that aspect... true... I'm Scandinavian at hart - I want wooden stairs! ;-)
Mark Hunter - nice social media attempt! ;-)
Indie - very true. ;-)
Jeanette - can't wait to see it!!
Yes, yes it does! No carpet, please. :o)
ReplyDeleteI don't get why people would place a carpet runner on their wooden stairs. They are just hiding the true beauty of the wood. Really weird.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, what do you think of iron staircase railings on wooden stairs?
Came across your blog and had a little giggle.. even after 4 years here I'm still amazed of the home decor..
ReplyDeleteHome depot over the week-end they are selling nicotine colour lamp switches for the wall.. sitting next to the white ones... who in their right mind wants those?! but you can't find any modern stainless steel ones.. oh dear oh dear...
